Pampore: Pampore bagged first position followed by Tral and Pulwama grabbed third position in the Pulwama Pencak Silat Championship held at Government Degree Collage Pampore on Saturday.
The three day championship was organised by Pencak Silat Association of J&K in collaboration with GDC Pampore.
According to the organisers around 200 players from different schools of the Pulwama district took part in the event.
Sports Council Manager Pulwama Bashir Ahmad was chief guest, on the closing ceremony. Principal GDC Pampore Prof Seema Naaz, BMO Pampore Asma Nazir, Registard Medical Officer Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, Range Officer Kakapora Block Forest Officer, Kakapora were also present on the closing ceremony.
On the occasion Prof Naaz congratulated all participating students and organisers of the event. She expressed her happiness for the successful conduct of the tournament.
She congratulated the winners and urged the participants to work hard to make their mark in the sports arena.
Participants from Pampore and adjoining areas have praised the organizers for the event.
