School building gutted in Uri

BARAMULLA: A school building was gutted in a fire incident in Chapper village of border town Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.
Fire broke out in one of the buildings of government middle school (GMS) in Chapper village of Uri under the educational zone Jula Friday evening, resulting in the building gutted completely and another nearby building also receiving partial damage.
Locals said that, soon after the incident the local people, and Uri police reached the spot and doused the flames, the quick efforts of locals along with police saved the other properties.
The cause of the fire could not be confirmed, however police registered a case and started its investigation.
The building was built by the Indian army in 2006 under Sadbhawna program
