Self-defense camp for girls begins at GDC Pampore

Pampore: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary inaugurates a self-defense camp for girls at Government Degree College Pampore on Monday.
The six day camp will be organised by Government Degree College Pampore in collaboration with Women Development Cell .
The expert speakers highlighted the importance of Martial Arts for maintaining physical and mental fitness, GDC Pampore officials told Kashmir Reader.
The trainers also demonstrated their talent before DC Pulwama and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary said the district administration is committed to the empowerment of and equal opportunities to girls.
He said Pulwama administration is observing to create awareness and sensitise the community about the need to promote empowerment of girls and reinforce gender equality.
“International level female martial arts trainers will impart training to the girls so that they can defend for an hour,” Seema Naaz Principal GDC Pampore said.
“The techniques of self defense will enable girl students to defend themselves in demanding situations,” the organisers said
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Prof Shah Lateef,incharge ZPEO Pampore Saifuddin Shah and other officials were also present on the occasion.
