SRINAGAR: Ace cyclist Akbar Khan wins Open Mountain Bike (MTB) championship held on Sunday.
Parviaz Hussain and Waheed finished second and third respectively.
The 12 km race was flagged off by JKFA president Zameer Thakur at Syed Abad Ompora.
Around 50 mountain bikers from the valley participated in the race.
It was a success and we are being encouraged to organize more such races, said Basharat Qureshi one of organizers of race and senior cyclist.
The race was being sponsored by Pandith Trading Company Humhama, AL-Madina Departmental Store..Rawalpora Miraj Joinery Mills (MJM) Baghi Ali Mardan Khan and Riyaz Gift House Rawalpora.
The race was supported by J&K Cycling Association and Kashmir Youth Unity Sports Club.
