DC Kupwara appeals for inoculation at vaccination centres

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today said that the joint efforts by Health, Civil and Police administration in mitigation process of COVID-19 has yielded better results on ground across district Kupwara, but it is still advisable for all to adhere to COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) religiously and vaccinate themselves at nearest vaccination centres.
The DC said this while addressing media persons here regarding COVID containment and mitigation measures in the district.
The SSP Kupwara, Dr. G. V.Sandeep and District Information Officer Kupwara Mohammad Yousuf Mir were present at the occasion.
Giving details, the DC said that the recovery rate has increased upto 91.10 percent , positivity rate has drastically come down to 5.3 percent in the district. He congratulated all those persons involved in Covid-19 mitigation efforts for their hard work and good result.
The DC said that the number of total positive cases in the district is 13058 while the number of recovered patients is 11896. He said the district has witnessed 149 deaths since the beginning of Covid-19.
Regarding isolation of positive cases, the DC said that 76 positive cases are in Hospital isolation while 952 positive cases are under home isolation. The DC reiterated his appeal and urged upon the people of the district to religiously follow the Covid appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and attend nearest Vaccination centres for timely inoculation against Covid-19 pandemic. He also appealed to media persons to promote positivity with regard to COVID containment efforts in the district.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara visited various markets of Kupwara town and inspected implementation of the Covid lockdown on ground.
The DC on the occasion was accompanied by SSP Kupwara, G.V. Sandeep and other concerned officers.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner walked through various lanes and by-lanes of Kupwara town including Bus Stand, Hajaj market, Hopital Road, Regipora, Branwari and Bypass Road.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that corona lockdown has proved instrumental in declining the daily positive rate of Covid cases in the district. He further said that the lockdown has been ordered to minimize the Covid positive cases so that normal life could be restored.
He also appealed to the people to continue following Covid appropriate behaviour, wearing of masks, keeping social distance and maintaining hand hygiene to prevent its further spread.
