DC Kupwara inaugurates 50 bedded Covid Care Centre at AGS Wayane

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today inaugurated 50 bedded Covid Care Centre at Army Goodwill School (AGS) Wayane here.
The Covid Care Centre will be administered by the joint efforts of Army and Health department Kupwara.
Colonel, 160 INF BN TA Kupwara, S. Bhattacharya; Incharge Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara, Abdul Gani Dar and other senior Army officers were present at the event.
On the occasion, the DC inspected various wards of the Covid Care Centre including Laboratory and Pharmacy units.
The DC on the occasion said that the establishment of such Covid Care facility is the need of the hour as the current situation of Covid pandemic demands. He said that the Covid Care Centre will prove an extraordinary facility for the Covid patients of Kupwara.
While congratulating the Army for such initiative, the DC assured necessary support for treatment of the Covid Patients of the district.
Meanwhile, Colonel S. Bhattacharya while speaking to media persons said, “on the directions of higher-ups of Army, the infrastructure of the Army Goodwill School which is closed due to Covid lockdown, shall be utilized for treatment of the Covid patients”.
