Police distributes 1300 face masks in Pampore, Khrew, recover 29,700 as fine from SOP violators

PAMPORE: SP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf on Wednesday visited Pampore to take stock of adherence to Covid SOPs in the area.
A special mask distribution drive was organised on the visit of SP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf during which he along with SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan distributed around 1000 face masks in the area. SHO Khrew also distributed 300 masks among the general public at various places at Khrew.
Around 157 people were fined for violating the SOP’s in Pampore and 104 in Khrew and a fine of rupees 29,700 were recovered from them, a police officer told Kashmir Reader.
During the drive shopkeepers were asked to produce vaccination certificates and fresh COVID test results before opening shops in Saffron town.
The police also made announcements in Pampore town and other places appealing to all citizens to follow proper guidelines, maintain social distance, wear proper masks and avoid crowded places. They warned that those found violating Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly dealt with as per the law.
Latter on SP Awantipora held a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shaw, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore where in they discussed and vaccination , sampling and SOP’s in Pampore area.
