KUPWARA: District Legal Services Authority Kupwara celebrated Bio Diversity day on Saturday organized a webinar on the topic presided by Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Taslim Arif, who was also Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the topic, PD&SJ said that balance of nature is pivotal for the existence of all organisms. He said that human beings due to interference in the habitat of other living beings endanger their existence which ultimately affects human beings themselves. He stressed on sustenance and preservation of rich biodiversity.
Secretary DLSA Kupwara, Muzamil Ahmad Wani highlighted the importance of biodiversity in the background of the Global pandemic. He stressed for scientific disposal of solid waste, ensuring ban on polythene and proper protection of wetlands and water resources.
Other resource persons, panel lawyer Adv. Shah Khalid and Nazir Ah Qureshi of the Cultural Education Wing also discussed the importance and sensitivity of biodiversity. DLSA in collaboration with the education department celebrated Biodiversity day in 25 schools of the District involving legal literacy clubs also.
All the participants including penal lawyers, teachers, Students and PLVs vowed to create awareness among the people on the preservation and sensitivity of biodiversity.
