Police busted gang of burglars in Sopore, stolen items recovered

BARAMULLA: Police on Saturday said that they busted a gang of burglars in Sopore and recovered stolen items from their possession.
In a statement Sopore police said that, on 07 February 2021, police station Dangiwacha received a written complaint from Nazir Ahmad Shiekh son of Ghulam Muhammad Shiekh of Behrampora Rafiabad stating that on in February 2021, some unknown burglars entered his residential house and stolen golden ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.
Accordingly a case FIR number 18/2021 under section 454, 380 IPC was registered at police station Dangiwacha and investigation set into motion. During the course of investigation many suspects were brought to the police station for questioning. After strenuous efforts of Sopore Police and utilizing techniques four suspects namely Basharat Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Behrampora, Faizan Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar of Drusoo Rafiabad, Safeer Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Ahmad Baba of Marazigund Rafiabad and Irshad Ahmad Pandith son of Abdul Rashid Pandith of Braripora Handwara confessed involvement in the commission of crime. Golden ornaments worth lakhs, two inverters and two batteries were also recovered from their possession. Investigation of the case is still going on, more recoveries are to be expected and statement reads.
