Sopore: A teenager drowned in an Irrigation canal while swimming in Reban village of outskirts of Sopore on Sunday.
Locals said that some local youths of Reban village were swimming in a nearby irrigation canal on Sunday when a portion of canal came down resulting in a youth trapped in it.
The local people from nearby fields rescued the youth and shifted the youth to SDH Sopore, however doctors declared him as dead.
The deceased youth was identified as Salik Imran age above 13 years son of Mohammad Imran of Reban village of Rafiabad Sopore.
