Pampore woman loses battle to COVID at CD hospital Srinagar

PAMPORE: One more patient of COVID-19 from Saffron town Pampore died at Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar on Monday.
Health officials informed Kashmir Reader that a woman from Tulbagh Namlabal, Pampore was detected as COVID positive four days ago at Sub District Hospital Pampore where she was referred to Chest Disease hospital Srinagar on Saturday.
They added that the 60 year old female Covid-19 patient died on Monday at
Chest Disease hospital Srinagar.
She was laid to rest in her ancestral graveyard in Pampore. All SOPs were followed while performing her funeral and subsequent burial.
This was the third COVID -19 death in the town during the second wave. Earlier a man and woman from Kadlabal too died from COVID-19.
” The second wave is more fatal, last week we registered three deaths in Pampore block,” Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Nodal Officer COVID- 19 Pampore block told Kashmir Reader, adding that 160 positive cases of COVID-19 were detected out of 400 on Sunday.
” This is a serious trend and if it goes like this it will be difficult to control it,” he said, appealing people to follow SOPs.
He also appealed to people to stay indoors and avoid visiting hospitals unless there is some pressing need.
