Pattan bank robbery: Car, gun recovered by police in Kunzar

BARAMULLA: The Baramulla police recovered the gun of the bank security guard and the Maruti car which was used by the unknown gunmen robbers on Thursday for looting a branch of Jammu and Kashmir bank in Khore area of Pattan Baramulla.
Officials in the police said that, soon after gunmen wearing PPE kits and face masks looted a branch of Jammu and Kashmir bank in Khore Pattan on Thursday in a broad day light, police and other security forces launched a hunt to nab the gunmen robbers. In this connection police station Kunzar received information about the presence of a vehicle in a desolate area, soon after information a team of police station Kunzar reached the spot and took the vehicle into their custody and also recovered the rifle of the security guard of the bank in nearby fields.
The sources said that teams of police, and other forces increased their search operation in the Kunzar area to nab the gunmen, after it surfaced that all the robbers visited Kunzar area before they ran anywhere.
Earlier on Thursday these robbers barged into a branch of Jammu and Kashmir bank on Thursday afternoon in Khore area of Pattan in broad day light and took more than 2,50000 rupees from the bank even as some people and bank staff tried to stop them, they fired several bullets in the air to frighten them.
The gunmen robbers left their vehicle on the spot and escaped from a Maruti car of civilians .
