Retried JKTDC employees demand release of dues

SRINAGAR: A meeting of the JKTDC Retired Employees Association was held at Srinagar in which retired employees expressed their grave concern over their fraternity facing financial crunch in wake of nonpayment of their entitled dues.
The association expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of G.M.Bhat and Som Dutt Sharma who were suffering from severe ailments but due to non availability of medical expenses they passed away for want of money.
The retired employees expressed their grave concern over the non release of their cola arrears, 7thpay commission arrears and other due arrears in favour of the deceased employees.
They said that though the Managing Director JKTDC and the FACAO were well in time requested to release their arrears for the treatment of the deceased but they turned deaf ear with the result both employees died without having timely treatment due to negligence of JKTDC management. The association condemns the attitude of JKTDC management towards its retirees who all their life worked day night for the development of the corporation that too in odd times like 1990,s 2010 2016 .
The JKTDC management is aware that the retired employees are suffering badly as we have no pension so how long we shall remain dependent on others when we have our own earned money with JKTDC.
The JKTDC retired employees association urged the Managing Director JKTDC Srinagar to release all pending dues (cola arrears, leave salary arrears @7th pay commission, gratuity arrears) in their favour without further delay otherwise the association shall be compelled to come on roads which can also be extended to hunger strike if required. The retired employees association appealed the Advisor LG in charge Tourism to please intervene in the matter on humanitarian grounds
