Police, Tehsil administration carry out covid-19 awareness campaign in Pampore

PAMPORE: The Jammu and Kashmir Police and officials of Tehsil administration authorities on Monday carried out a massive awareness programme on COVID-19 in Saffron town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials of Police led by SDPO Pampore, Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore Adil Ahmad carried out a march through the whole Saffron town, police officials told Kashmir Reader.
During the march in Saffron town Pampore announcements were made on a public address system mounted on vehicles asking people to follow SOPs.
They appealed to people for wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and taking other precautions.
People were warned of strict action for violating the norms.
Eligible persons were asked to go for vaccination.
During the drive some persons who were roaming without masks were in Saffron town Pampore fined by police Pampore.
A number of teams of revenue officials were sent to different areas of Tehsil Pampore where they carried announcements on mosque loudspeakers asking people to follow SOPs.
The teams also counselled members of different masque committees and sought their support in educating people at grass roots level.
” The new wave of COVID-19 is spreading very fast and is infecting many people each passing day, keeping this in view we carried out announcements from all mosques of the Tehsil requesting eligible persons for getting vaccinated at their nearest vaccination centres,” Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that the eligible persons for vaccination should carry adhar card and contact numbers with them.
He impressed people for wearing face masks and maintaining social distance in mosques, shops and other gatherings.
