Girl dies, 5 family members injured in road accident in Awantipora

Pampore:In a tragic accident, a teenage girl was killed while five other her family members were seriously injured when the Alto vehicle they were travelling met with accident on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Barsoo Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday morning.
A 22 year old girl Tanzeela Rashid daughter of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Wagad Tral was killed while five other members of her family were seriously injured on Sunday morning in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Barsoo area of Awantipora.
Soon after the accident, locals of nearby area, traffic police, police , troops rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and took the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment, locals told Kashmir Reader.
According to police, six members of family were seriously injured when a Alto vehicle bearing registration number JK19-0675 carrying six persons on its way from Tral to Srinagar when the driver lost Control over the car and hit a divider on the highway at Barsoo area of Awantipora.
The injured have identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, (35) son of Ab Rashid Dar, Rozy Jan (25) daughter of Abdul Rashid Dar, Tanzeela Rashid (22), daughter of Abdul Rashid Dar, Iqra Rashid,(18) daughter of Rashid Ahmad Dar and Anayat Yousuf (22) , son of Mohammad Yousuf, all residents of Wagad Tral, Police officer Zahoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
All the injured persons immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment where doctors referred to all the injured persons SMHS hospital Srinagar, however one of the injured Tanzeela Rashid succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital, he said.
Meanwhile, a case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation started, police officers said.
