Resurgence of COVID-19: Authorities announce two mini containment zones in Pampore

Pampore: Administration in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday declared two mini Containment zone in Kadlabal area after resurgence new cases of COVID-19 in the area.
The Containment zones include New Colony Kadlabal and Hamdani Mohalla Kadlabal area of the Saffron Pampore.
A joint team of health and revenue officials Pampore headed by Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and Registered Medical Officer, Dr Mohammad Ashraf visited the containment zones. The team members installed banners warning people not to enter the containment zones, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Around 25 active cases of COVID -19 have been reported from New Colony Kaldlabal, Hamdania Mohalla Kadlabal, Meebagh Namblabal and Lalwani Mohalla areas of Saffron town Pampore.
” The spread COVID 19 cases have intensified during the second wave, in Pampore town we have 25 active cases,” Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that the volume of sampling stands same at around 150 samples per day.
He said that in winter the results of the samples were largely coming negative.
” Now the number of positive cases is increasing, 20 -25 cases turn positive each day,” he said.
He added that on instructions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, two mini containment zones were declared in Saffron town Pampore.
He appealed to the general public for following SOP’s for containing the spread of COVID -19.
” If people use masks and follow other precautions, the spread of this infection will controlled and the administration will not be compelled to enforce restrictions,” he said.
