FOB Udhampur organizes Webinar on COVID -19 Vaccination Drive

UDHAMPUR: Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Udhampur, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a webinar on “COVID-19 Vaccination drive” in district Udhampur on Wednesday.
The webinar focused on the potential acceptance of COVID-19 Vaccination among the healthcare workers, people above the age of 45 years in the district and the progress made in the vaccination drive throughout the district from the day of the onset of the vaccination program in J&K.
In her introductory address, Ms. Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) J&K and PIB Jammu said that the biggest aim of conducting these webinars is to spread awareness among the masses related to the COVID-19 vaccination and to clear the doubts if any by interacting with the experts available during the webinar.
She also said that ROB J&K and its field units across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the UT of Ladakh have been vanguard from the very first day of the pandemic spreading awareness be that the COVID 19 appropriate behaviour or this vaccination using social media and other platforms.
In his Keynote address, Mohd Syed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur gave brief overview of the “Role of District Administration in COVID19 vaccination process in the district”. He said that COVID 19 Vaccination process started on 16th January, 2021 in district Udhampur like other parts of the country. District administration is providing full support to the health department in COVID 19 Vaccination process, he added.
Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, Dr. K.C Dogra, spoke about the efforts of health department Udhampur for streaming the COVID-19 vaccination process. Despite the various challenges be- like shortage of staff, typography of district, we were able to manage it, he added. He appealed to people to come forward for COVID-19 vaccination.
During the Webinar, District Immunization Officer, Udhampur, Dr. Chander Kanta said that the district has made a good progress in COVID 19 vaccination among the healthcare workers, people above the age group of 60 years and the percentage is satisfactory. She added that for awareness regarding the COVID-19 vaccination, various IEC activities are being taken up and media has a great role to play.
Besides officers of the district, Block Medical Officers, ASHA Workers, Anganwari Workers, PRIs and students, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag, Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Exhibition Officer, ROB J&K, Syed Adil Shahmeem Andrabi, Media and Communications Officer, PIB Jammu, Shiekh Mudasir Amin were also present.
