FVSc SKUAST along with AHD holds Animal clinical at Gagangeer Sonamarg

Srinagar: An Animal clinical cum awareness camp was organised by Faculty of Veterinary Sciences SKUAST-K and Animal Husbandry, at Gagangir Sonamar.The programme was sponsored by SERB-DST Govt. of India sponsored project,
The camp was attended by a number of clinical and paraclinical scientists drawn from various divisions of the faculty mostly from the Division of Veterinary Clinical Complex under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Jalal-Ud-Din Parrah, Chief Scientist & Head Veterinary Clinical Complex, F.V.Sc. & A.H.
More than 100 animals of every species mostly equine were treated for different diseases by the scientists of the faculty. Medicines, supplements and dosing material were provided to the farmers free of cost.
Simultaneously an awareness camp was also organised on spot in which a healthy interaction took place between the scientists and farmers.
Farmers were apprising and and abhosed to undertake the livestock farming in scientific times for maximum profitability by the Head of Veterinary Clinical Complex Prof. (Dr.) J.D. Parrah.
Local panchayat representative Tariq Iqbal, while applauding the effort of the faculty wanted to convey their request to conceive higher ups for establishment of a veterinary centre in the area for mitigating the sufferings of farmers.
Faculty scientists who rendered their services in the clinical and awareness camp included Dr. N.A. Tufani, Deputy Director Research Animal Science (Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Iqbal Yatoo (Assistant Prof. Veterinary Medicine) (PI of the sponsoring project), Dr. Farooz Ahmad Lone (Sr. Assistant Prof. Vet. Pathology), Dr. Raja Aijaz Ahmad (Assistant Prof. Vet. Surgery), Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Bhat (Lecturer Vet. Clinics).
“The programme was conducted as a part of World Veterinary Day Celebrations” said Prof. J.D. Parrah, Chairman of the committee constituted for the project.
