PULWAMA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary Wednesday flagged-off a cross country run of various age groups of students, here.
The run was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in which students of age groups (U-14, U-16 and U-19), participated. The event witnessed a huge participation of students who started the long distance run from Peaks Automobile Pulwama and concluded at Drussu.
While interacting with the students, the DDC urged the student groups to imbibe the qualities of leadership and initiative in life. He said that such events will pave a way towards fitness and sportsmanship.
He asked the students to be the active participants in community development and volunteerism. He directed the organisers to provide enough sanitizers and other logistics to the students during the run.
Later, winners and runner ups were felicitated with trophies and consolation prizes.
District Sports Officer Noor Mohammad, other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
