Baramulla: Mother of senior journalist Gulzar Ahmad Zargar passed away on Sunday morning after a brief illness at their residence at Baharampora Rafiabad Baramulla.
Large number of people from different walks of life including journalists from different areas of Baramulla and Srinagar participated in the funeral prayers of mother of Gulzar Ahmad.
All the members of Baramulla working journalist association headed by its chairman Karamat Qayoom also visited the residence of Gulzar Ahmad where they expressed their grief sympathies with the bereaved family and offered special prayers for the deported soul.
Meanwhile, journalist associations from Srinagar, Jammu, Kupwara, Sopore, Tangmarg, Pattan, teachers forum and several other organisations also condoled with the bereaved family.
Earlier morning journalist Gulzar Ahmad wrote that, “With deepest sorrow I inform you all about sad demise of my beloved mother Asha Beigum on Sunday at 3 AM at our residence Baharampora Rafiabad, Nimaz-Jinaza will be offered at 9:30 am,” Gulzar Ahmad tweeted.
Last year on March 21, his father Gulam Rasool Zargar also passed away.
