SRINAGAR: As per statement, issued by the Winter Games Association of J&K, the Senior National Ski and Snowboarding Championship for men and women is being organized by the Winter Games Association of Himachal Pradesh from 26th to 28th March.
In this connection the Winter Games Association of J&K shall also field its contingent comprising of men and women teams in Alpine Ski, Nordic Ski and Snowboarding events. The Association has requested the Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir, J&K Sports Council to hold the screening of the athletes, who are selected by the Association Selection Committee. The Association is fielding young and promising athletes in the Championship.
According to general secretary of WGAJK, the association had a hectic schedule of activities this winter, starting with District Championships, followed by Regional, Union Territory and Junior Nationals and ending with Khelo India Winter Games. Our Junior athletes performed exceptionally, well bagging a rich haul of 26 medals in recent nationals, he further said.
