Locals, officials visit pandit families on Herath in Pampore

Pampore: Locals and Tehsil administration officials of Pampore on Thursday greeted pandits on Herath at their residences. The team was led by Naib Tehsildar Pampore Mohammad Ameen and Naib Tehsildar Khrew Bashir Ahmad.
They visited a number of Pandit families in Pampore, Wuyan, Ladhoo and Khrew area.
The team led by Naib Tehsildar Khrew also visited Jawala Ji temple in Khrew area of Pampore and greeted devotees there.
“There were instructions from Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer for visiting the Pandit families,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader. The Pandit families thanked the Tehsil administration Pampore for showing a good will gesture towards them.
“It made us feel good, though it was an official visit but it reminds us centuries old tradition of taking part in each others festivals,” Ravi Kumar, a Pandit resident of Ladhoo village told Kashmir Reader.
He also thanked the administration for making various arrangements like supply of electricity and water for them.
Maha Shivratri, locally known as ‘Herath’, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Pampore Tehsil like other parts of Kashmir.
Many Kashmiri pandits also visited Jawalaji Temple in Khrew area of Pampore to pay their obeisance.
