BARAMULLA: Over one dozen shops and other rooms were damaged after fire broke out in a shopping complex in the Watergam area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday night.
Officials said that fire broke out in a double story shopping complex in main market Rafiabad Sunday night, resulting in over one dozen shops and other rooms damaged completely resulting in property worth lakhs reduced into ashes.
They said, as the fire broke out, the fire tenders from nearby areas including police and civilians doused the flames and saved the other property.
The first story of the building was completely damaged while some shops in ground story also received partial damage in the incident.
The local people of the area appealed administration to compensate the victim shopkeepers so that they can resume their business.
