Pampore: In view of reopening of primary classes in Valley from Monday, authorities in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have started training on COVID-19 related standard operating procedures and rapid testing of teachers and students in the zone.
Zonal Education Officer Pampore, Mushtaq Ahmad, told Kashmir Reader that they have been taking a number of measures as per directions from higher authorities for safety of students and teachers.
He said that they have started a training programme for around 364 teachers of the zone.
” Three phased training programmes on COVID-19 SOPs are going in full swing. The first phase was concluded today and in a few days the other two phases will also be completed,” he said, adding that in the training programme teachers were given instructions on how to operate classes keeping in view various guidelines on COVID-19.
He also added that schools up to 8th were provided with thermal scanners, sanitizers, masks and other safety items.
The ZEO also informed that rapid testing of teachers and students is also being done by the health department.
Block Medical Officer Pampore, Dr Gulzar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that 8 teams have been constituted for random sampling of students and teachers in the block.
” Around 298 teachers and students were screened on day one and test results of all turned negative,” he said.
He added that the testing will continue till all schools of the block are covered.
