Bird flu, AHD Baramulla conduct surveillance of poultry farms with district administration

BARAMULLA: Day after when a bird was tested positive for bird flu in a poultry farms in Oldtown, Baramulla, the rapid response team (RRT) of animal husbandry department (AHD) led by Dr Balbir Singh, Superintendent veterinary hospital Baramulla along with police party conducted surveillance of poultry outlets in Iqbal-Market Oldtown, Baramulla on Sunday.
Fortunately, few samples collected later on in the vicinity of Iqbal Market have tested negative for Bird-Flue which has given respite to the officers of department and administration.
Further, the poultry shops were sanitised and disinfected by the frontline workers of Municipal Council Baramulla. Dr S M Anwar Andrabi chief animal husbandry officer is in constant touch with the district administration to safeguard the health of public and appealed public to cooperate.
