IIKSTC with cutting edge technology to be a boon for Kashmir Saffron

SRINAGAR: A review meeting of National Mission on Saffron was held today at India International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal at the meeting hall of IIKSTC Dussu Pampore.
On the occasion Director said India International Saffron Trade Centre is one of the best in Asian subcontinent and the facilities being provided to the saffron growers is all set to provide cutting edge technology for facilitating promotion of pure quality saffron. He said IIKSTC provides an efficient platform to the saffron growers for getting optimum returns of their yield.
Director impressed upon the officers at IIKSTC that every possible support and technical expertise to the saffron growers should be provided by the Department.
Earlier the Director had an overview of different sections of the IIKSTC and was briefed about various facilities for preserving, grading, processing and marketing of saffron. Participating in the discussions Chief Engineer M.E.D assured that the micro irrigation system along with well will be completed and handed over to the Agriculture Department by 31st of March as per the deadline set earlier.
Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama gave a detail about major achievements under the National Saffron Mission in the district.
Joint Director Agriculture Extension Mohammad Muzaffer Hurrra, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Amir U Din Andrab, Joint Director Apiculture and Mushroom Development Farooq Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Seeds, Pescides and Fertilizers Kashmir Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Joint Director Agriculture Farm/Spices and Medicinal Plants Qounsar Parveen, Chief Ariculture Officer Srinagar/Budgam/Pulwama, Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department Kashmir, Administrator IIKSTC, Chief Technical Officer to Director Agriculture Kashmir Sheikh Farhan Qadir and other officers also attended the meeting
