Husband, wife injured in a leopard attack in Handwara

Handwara: A man along with his wife, were injured in leopard attack in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday morning.
Abdul Rashid Mir and his wife Raja Begum resident of Waderbala village of Zacheldara Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were attacked by a leopard outside their home and injuring the both.
The local people of the area reached the spot and chase the beast. The duo was shifted to nearby hospital where from they were shifted to district hospital Handwara for advanced treatment.
The officials of the wildlife department said that a team of officials has been rushed to the area and they are trying to locate the wild beast. “Yes we were informed by police and soon after information we sent a team of officials to catch the animal, and hope will do it soon” an officer of the wildlife department said.
