Agri department mulls to set monitoring , vigilance committees at villages for transparency Director Agriculture Kashmir

BARAMULLA: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal convened a review meeting of officers of district Baramulla.
The meeting reviewed the physical and financial achievements of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Capex budget. While speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture stressed upon the officers of the department to work in a mission mode for achieving 100% target both physical and financial under Capex as well as Centrally Sponsored schemes with in stipulated time. He directed Officers that all the initiatives taken by the department must be farmer centric and the commitment to satisfy the farming community. He directed the participating officers to ensure that the budgetary allocations to their respective sub-divisions under different schemes and projects should be utilized judiciously.
Speaking on the occasion Director impressed upon the officers to play a pro-active role in the execution of different schemes and programmes. He directed to establish monitoring and vigilance committees at village level to monitor and verify the proceedings and progress on the ground level, so that accountability and transparency should be maintained in the implementation of different schemes.
He reiterated the officers for maintaining documentation besides pre and post-photographic evidence of each activity conducted by the department.
Chowdhary said need of the hour is to identify and explore Agri-based sectors to harness the impact in terms of economy and employment.
Iqbal stressed upon the officers to depute field functionaries on the regular field visits to their respective jurisdictions for awareness generation among the farming community regarding latest technological interventions.
Regarding Apiculture and Mushroom sectors Director emphasized on the fact that Baramulla District is having a lot of potential for development of these two sectors and stressed upon the officers involved with these schemes to take the farmers involved with these schemes on board to take these two sectors to new heights. He said that the department will provide special funds for creating mushroom villages.
Director instructed the officers of the district for effective work culture and asked the employees to work with full dedication, discipline and professionalism.
