NIT assistant professor aspirants protest, call for holding screening test

SRINAGAR: The Assistant professor Aspirants who were barred from taking screen test by National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar against the NIT authorities demanding the higher authorities to conduct their screening as per the High Court directions.
Several such aspirants assembled here in press enclave, chanting the slogans in favor of their demands.
Lubna Jan, one of protesting aspirants said that the National Institute of Technology have issued an advertisement for the recruitment of the Assistant professor posts on February 2020 and last of the form were submitted on 9th March 2020.
” When the advertisement were issued by the NIT Srinagar, the internet and broadband were not working in the Kashmir valley. Our friends who were studying in other Indian states have submitted our forms online at that time,” she said.
She said that but our friends have done little bit mistake while submitting the form. After nine months of time period. The NIT Srinagar have issued eligibility and ineligibility lists in which four days were given to clear the eligibility status.
” After that we visited the NIT college to clear our eligibility status, so we can get eligible for the exams, but they have denied it. After that we have approached the court. The court have issued the orders for conducting our exams,” She said.
” Today when we five Aspirants reached to NIT Srinagar, we were barred from the exams and they didn’t have issued another eligibility lists for the candidates. If court have have already issued the order to NIT college Srinagar, how they can barred us to participate in the exams,” she added
The protesting aspirants requested the LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and conduct their exams.
