PAMPORE: The two day district Pulwama Pencak Silat Championship concludes here on Friday.
The championship was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Pencak Silat Association and was sponsored by Police district Awantipora
SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem was the Chief guest on the closing ceremony.
SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem was the chief guest who had a detailed interaction with the participants and expressed that Police is committed to organize various sports events as it helps to bring positive energy, build competitive spirit and good health in the youth.
He further stated that more sports events and activities shall be organized in the Police District in future.
“Around 220 players took part in the event which was organised by district Pancak Silat Associatio Pulwama in clubration with Awantipora police,” SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem told media, adding that it is recognised spot by government of India and government of Jammu and Kashmir. “Such events will provide a plate form for the students so that they can represent their country at International level”, he said
While as Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad, DySP Javaid Ahmad SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan guest of honours.
Pencak Silat Association organising Secretary Sajad Ahmad Bhat and Boys Higher Secondary officials and others also participated in the closing ceremony presentation.
During the occasion some media persons were also awarded for giving do coverage to the event. The media persons include, Bilal Habib, Syed Manzoor, Younis Khaliq, Maik Nisar, Sheikh Kousar, Basharat Rashid, Dar Tariq and others.
