GDC Pampore orginises event

PAMPORE: World Wetland Day was observed at government Degree College Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event was organized by the Department of Environment Science Government Degree College Pampore in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation und.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Principal GDC Pampore Prof Seema Naz, Nadeem Qadri Environmental Lawyer and executive Director, Wildlife conservation fund (WCF), Parvaiz Yousuf Director wetland conservation project fund (WCF), John Mohammad forester/block officer department of wildlife protection and Dr Irfan Khursheed Shah head department of Environmental science GDC Pampore spoke on the occasion.
The speakers highlighted importance of observing world wetlands day, vision for conservation and management of wetlands of Pampore and role of wildlife conservation fund (WCF) in conservation, preservation, protection of wetlands across Jammu and Kashmir with special reference to wetlands of Pampore and role wildlife department and anti poaching operations in and around wetlands of Pampore.
A large number of volunteers from Eco-club participated in the programme.Principal GDC Pampore Seema Naz told Kashmir Reader that a number of volunteers from Ecoclub participated in a function held at the college campus and experts gave intracted with them over the overall preservation of the wetlands, besides some of those surrounding us.
