Awantipora: Republic Day 2021 was celebrated in Police District Awantipora with great fervor wherein tricolor was unfurled at each Police Station / Police establishment and main function was held at Police District Lines Awantipora in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl (KAS), as chief guest unfurled the National Flag and inspected the Parade.
SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem(JKPS),Tehsildar Awantipora Mohammed Maqbool, DySP DAR DPL Awantipora Rashid Akbar besides other senior officers of civil administration/ Police Department were present on the occasion.
The parade was commanded by SDPO Tral Aejaz Ahmad (JKPS).
The march past was presented by the Contingent of CRPF, SSB, District Police Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police and Home Guard.
Besides, colorful cultural programmes were presented and awards were given to the best performers by the chief guest.
Good number of people witnessed the function as elaborate security arrangements were made by the District Police Awantipora on this behalf.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner praised SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem for launching a crackdown against drug peddlers in Awantipora police district and hoped the drive will be continued till the menace is eliminated.
SP Awantipora, Tahir Saleem passed a vote of thanks and thanked all dignitaries for making the event successful.
Some employees were also honoured during the occasion. Roof Ahmad Mir, Employee (driver) , at Munciple Committee Pampore was awarded by ADC Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl and SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem for showing exemplary performance in snow clearance at Saffron town Pampore. Two revenue officials from Tehsil office Pampore, Mir Murawat Hussain and Syed Mukhtar Ahmad were also awarded on Republic day at DPL Awantipora by ADC Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl and SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem.
The duo were honoured for working tirelessly in making arrangements for Covid -19 patients at various quarantine centres in Pampore Tehsil under the directions of Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and helping in snow clearance.
Republic day function were also held at police station Pampore, Townhall Pampore and BDO office Pampore.
Tehsildar Pampore unfurled the national flag on Republic day at police station Pampore in presence of SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan and Inspector Adil Ahmad.
