Pampore Police arrested drug peddler with heroin

PAMPORE: The anti-drug drive of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Police District Awantipora continues against drug peddlers, more than 100 peddlers arrested in one year, one more drug peddler arrested with heroin in Saffron town Pampore on Sunday.
Pampore Police arrested one drug peddler and recovered six grams of substance suspected to be heroin from his possession.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Abdul Hameed Sheikh son of Habibullah Sheikh, resident of Dounnar Pampore.
Police party of Police Station Pampore on naka duty at Literabal Gas Plant Pampore found 01 persons moving in suspicious circumstances and was stopped for checking. During checking, the person was found to be carrying/ possessing a contraband substance suspected to be heroin about 06 grams, a police officer told Kashmir Reader.
A Case FIR number 10/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore. Further investigation is going on.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.
Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
