Several shops damaged in a fire at Kupwara

KUPWARA: Many shops were damaged in a fire incident which broke out on Saturday night in north Kashmir’s Kupwara township.
The fire first broke out from the unit of co-operative bank on hospital road Kupwara and it engulfed over half dozen nearby shops and other properties. Soon after the incident, fire tenders, Kupwara police and civilians join hands and douse the flames and save the other properties, however over half a dozen shops along with goods worth lakhs of rupees are reduced into ashes.
On Sunday morning several officials from the district administration Kupwara visited the spot and took stock of the situation. The officials of the revenue department were asked to submit the detailed report of lost of properties before the district administration Kupwara.
