Handicap association hold protest, seek job reservation

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association on Saturday held a protest demonstration here in demanding the government to reserve the job quota for the disability persons as per the Supreme Court orders.
Scores of the disabled persons from various districts of the Kashmir valley assembled here in press enclave under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association and chanting slogans in favour of their genuine demands.
Nasir-ul- Gaffar Sheikh, one the protesting members of the Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association said that the government should reserve the 4 percent quota for the disability persons.
” The government should reserve the job quota for the upcoming recruitment as per the Supreme Court orders. So the people falling in the disability category will find benefits in the government jobs,” He said.
The members of the Jammu and Kashmir handicapped Association requested the Lieutenant Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir to reserve four percent job quota for the disability persons in the Jammu and Kashmir in every government job.
