Awareness Camp organised by Badamibagh Cantonment Board on Centrally, State sponsored schemes

SRINAGAR: The Badamibagh Cantonment Board on Saturday held a public awareness camp at KV No-1 School in which various departments provided the necessary information to the public regarding various Government Schemes.
The camp organized by Badamibagh Cantonment Board for the effective implementation of Centrally/ State sponsored schemes in Cantonment Area. Brig. Vijayant Yadav (YSM) President Cantonment Board and Upendra Kumar (IDES) Chief Executive Officer of Badamibagh Cantonment Board and Elected Members encouraged the general public of Cantonment Area for active participation in the Camp.
CEO of the BB Cantt Board Upendra Kumar (IDES) said that this was the first time such a camp was conducted to reach out to the public living within the Cantonment area to make them aware of various Government Schemes.
He said that a large number of people participated in the camp is an encouraging sign and we are hopeful that they will benefit from this.
He added that the Board is doing its best to reach out to the public and make them aware of the schemes that are available besides opening of Information and Facilitation centre for residents of Cantonment area.
During the event he interacted with the public who said that such interactions and programmes should be conducted more frequently so that they remain well informed by the Government run schemes.
A large number of people participated in the programme with officials from JK Health Department, JK Youth Services and Sports, JK Housing Board, Urban Development Agency of Kashmir (UDAK), Social welfare Department, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and officials from the Cantonment Board Dispensary.
The officials from JK Youth Services and Sports Ghulam Rasool Malik and Asif Ahmad while JK Housing Board officials including Faizul Haq, and Tahir Malik interacted with a large number of people and made them aware about various schemes by their departments.
The information about Social welfare schemes was provided by Social Welfare officials Afzora Irshad, while Urban Development Agency of Kashmir (UDAK) related info was shared by Jahan Ara, Mushtaq Ahmad and Ajaz Ahmad and ICDS officials Mohsin Ahmad along with staff also shared details with people.
The health officials Dr Mudasir Nabi, and Muzamil Sultan held a detailed interaction with the participants.
A Medical camp was also organized by the officials of Cantonment Board Dispensary Dr. Ali Muhammad, Dr Gowher and Sh. Nazir Ahmad Bhat (Senior Pharmacist).
The locals hailed this event for being highly informative and hoped that such programmes will be held regularly besides appreciating this public awareness initiative by Badamibagh Cantonment Board.
