Police arrest two drug peddlers in Pampore, poppy straw recovered

PAMPORE: Continuing its drive against the ‘Drug Net’ Pampore Police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered eight kgs of contraband substances from their possession in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police party of Pampore on checking duty arrested two drug peddlers in Pampore town after arrested persons were moving in suspicious circumstances at Doninara Crossing near grid Station Pampore.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar alais Mushtaq Tiger son of Abdul Khaliq Dar, resident of Namblabal Pampore and Adil Ahmad Bhat alais Adil Gabroo son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Litterbal Pampore, SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He said during the search 08 Kgs of contraband substances poppy straw was recovered from the possession of arrested persons.
A case FIR number 03/2021under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore and further investigation was taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
