BANIHAL: District Level Committee (DLC), Ramban for Forest Rights Act, 2006 today organized training-cum- awareness programme at HSS Banihal to acquaint the officials of Sub Divisional Level Committees (SDLCs) Ramsoo and Banihal besides field functionaries of Revenue, Rural and Forest Departments department about the implementation of the Act.
The training was attended by SDM Ramsoo, Dil Mir Choudhary; SDM, Banihal Zaheer Abbas Bhat; Tehsildar Banihal, BDO Khari, Naib Tehsildars of Subdivision Ramsoo and Banihal, Range Officer Banihal, Ramban along Foresters, Patwaris and VLWs.
At the outset, DFO Ramban, Dr Rajan Singh (member of District Level Committee) discussed the modalities for effective implementation of provisions of Forest Rights Act, 2006. He gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the provisions of the Act and sensitized the participant about prescribed measures for the implementation of the Act.
The trainees were briefed in detail about the salient features of the Act and the rules including the preamble, the forest dwelling communities, the constitution and functions of the 3-tier system of committees at the district, sub divisional and gram Panchayat level and the procedure to be followed for inviting, acknowledging and processing the claims under the Act. The doubts were also cleared during the training session.
