Drug Controller Pulwama inspected various medical shops in Pampore, suspended licenses of 2 medical stores, operation of a medical agency

PAMPORE: The Drug Controller department Pulwama on Saturday suspended licenses of two medical shops and Operation of one medical store suspended in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In order to ensure the quality of drugs being sold to the patients and to regulate the prices of the drugs, a team of Drug Controller Pulwama led by Assistant Drug Controller, Pulwama Dilshada Akhtar and Drug Inspector Pampore Tasaduq Hussain on Saturday carried out surprise inspection of dozens medical shops in the Saffron town Pampore.
During the inspection, licenses of two medical shops were suspended on the spot for various violations and one of the medical shop was closed down and medical agency was put on showcause notice and operation was disallowed. Instructions were issued to Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadi drug store situated within the premises of Sub District Hospital Pampore for proper implementation of provisions of Drug & Cosmetics Act, officials sources told Kashmir Reader.
Assistant drug Controller Pulwama Dilshada Akhtar told Kashmir Reader that licences of two medical shops were suspended and operation of another medical agency suspended at Kadlabal Pampore.
“One person was not qualified for licence although he had made an elligible person incharge of the shop and second one had violated retail price norms and was selling medicine on exorbitant prices,” she said, adding that license of one medical agency was also cancelled as the proprietor had not sought permission concerned authorties for shifting the same.
