Speedy cab crushes pedestrian in Pattan

BARAMULLA: A speedy cab that was overtaking another cab in Pattan area of Baramulla on Friday afternoon killed a pedestrian.
Locals said that two Tata Sumo drivers were overtaking each other to earn on Friday afternoon when one among the two vehicles crushed a local person on Baramulla Srinagar road Friday afternoon. The injured person was shifted to nearby hospital however he was declared dead on arrival. The deceased was later identified as Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Gulam Ahmad Lone a resident of Khargam Kreeri Baramulla.
Locals said that Lone was hit by a speedy vehicle resulting in his on spot death.
The Pattan police register a case under relevant sections of law and start the further investigation of the accident.
On Thursday a leopard cub was crushed to death by a speedy vehicle on Baramulla Uri road near Gantamulla when a leopard cub was crossing the road and an unknown speedy vehicle crushed him to death.
Meanwhile, the local people of the overall north Kashmir complained that most of the Tata Sumo, mini bus even as big passenger bus drivers are driving their vehicles so fast only to lift more and more passengers on almost all the roads and not bothered about the precious lives of passengers and pedestrians. They appealed to the police department and officials of the district administrations to take serious steps and fix a maximum speed of vehicles on major roads of the region .
