Irrigation office in Khrew sealed after staff found absent

Pampore: A team revenue officials on Wednesday sealed the office of Assistant Engineer Irrigation Construction Division in Khrew area of Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after it was found closed despite the visit of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole to the area.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer paid a surprise visit to Irrigation construction division Khrew.
During the surprise visit, the Deputy Commissioner found the Assistant Engineer office locked and found employees absent from their duties.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl along with Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and officials, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader that the office of the Irrigation Construction Division Khrew was sealed on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer.
” We were receiving frequent complaints that the office of Assistant Engineer Construction division in Khrew remains closed,” The Tehsildar said, adding today a team of officials led by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer inspected the office building and found it locked.
He told Kashmir Reader that none of the staff were present on duty at the station despite the fact that Divisional Commissioner Kashmir accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl, various departments and agencies were on a visit in the area.
They were reviewing progress of ongoing projects at Industrial Estate Wuyan, Industrial Estate Khrew and 250 MVA grid station at Bhatina Khrew area of Pampore.
“I was instructed to seal the office by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama,” the Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader.
He said during the surprise visit all staff members and Assistant Engineer of the Irrigation Construction division department were found absent from the duty.
“A show cause notice has been served to the concerned official and further action as warranted under law will be taken,” he said.
