Municipal committee removes encroachments in Pampore

Pampore: Municipal Committee Pampore on Thursday launched a special anti-encroachment drive and removed illegal encroachments in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The Municipal Committee officials while tightening its noose on illegal encroachers launched a drive and removed illegal encroachments at Drangbal, Namblabal and Hospital road.
To free encroached footpaths and streets and hospital road in Pampore, the officials of Municipal Committee Pampore Police Pampore and revenue launched the drive which was led by Executive Officer Municipal Committee Mohammad Iqbal. He was accompanied by the Secretary Bashir Ahmad, Khilaf Warzi Officer Manzoor Ahmad Pampori and Sub Inspector Adil Ahmad.
During the drive officials removed encroachments in Drangbal, Namblabal and along Hospital road.
Earlier Municipal Committee Pampore informed general public through loudspeaker to remove encroachment by their own otherwise suitable action will be initiated against them and encroachment shall be removed, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore Mohammad Iqbal said that for a long time some people have encroached drains and footpaths.
“They were asked to evict the encroachment on their own but they didn’t which compelled us to launch a drive,” the EO said, the drive will continue till all illegal encroachments will be removed.
Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, Khilaf Warzi Inspector, told Kashmir Reader that announcements were made to encroachers on 9 December for removing the encroachments immediately along hospital road which is very road because fire and emergency station, hospital and a colleges are situated along it.
We had instructions from district administration to remove the encroachment, we were supported by Tehsildar Pampore and police Pampore,” he said, adding people are given time till 13 of December to remove encroachment from footpaths and drains.He asked people to cooperate with them.
The Fallah Behbood Committee Pampore has appreciated the action.
