KU law students hold protest, demand online exams

SRINAGAR: The Law Students from the Kashmir University on Monday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the online exams as per the UGC Guidelines.
Scores of the Students from the Law department including boys and girls assembled here in a press enclave and Chanting slogans ” We want Justice” and ” we want online exams”.
The protesting students said if the Kashmir university has conducted the online classes,then why is the university conducting the offline exams.
One of the protesting girl students from the law department said that we have been attending our classes in the online mode during pandemic times. when the university remained closed as a precautionary measure of spreading the Covid-19.
“As per the UGC guidelines the universities can also conduct the online exams of the students. Then why Kashmir University have issued the date sheet for the offline examinations,” She said
She said that the Jammu university is also conducting the online exams of the students. Why can’t kashmir university do the same.
” Most of our students are living from the far-flung areas. These students were not able to attend their classes online. The university should think about those students who have not attended their classes online,” She added.
The protesting students requested the vice chancellor of the Kashmir university to look into the matter and conduct their exams online mode.
