Heroin recovered in Uri, two held

BARAMULLA: Police on Sunday said that they seized two packets of heroin during a checking in the Dachi area of border town Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement to press Baramulla police said that a routine checks was established by Uri police in Dachi area on Sunday, around 11 am and during the routine checkup of vehicles a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-6531 was stopped and passengers were frisked, during checking two packets of Heroin like substance(one small,one big) was recovered from possession of two persons.
They identify the duo as Irfan Ahmad Mir son of Habibullah Mir and Irshad Ahmed Pood son of Mohammad Sharif Pood both the residents of Nambla Uri.
Police said that a case FIR number 174 /20 under section 8/21 and 29 NDPS Act stands registered against the both and further investigation is on.
