BARAMULLA: A black bear who created panic among several residential areas in Kupwara from a week ago, captured on Thursday by the wildlife department.
Official sources said that they had received several complaints of movement of a black bear in Wasia area of Kupwara from past several days, following the complaints a team of wildlife officials reached the spot and they installed a cage to trap the bear. They said on Thursday they caught the bear successfully in the locality.
The movement of bears created fear among the locals of the area and they hailed the efforts of the department who took immediate action.
