AH Department Jammu conducts seminar for vets, Para-vets in district Reasi

JAMMU : Extension and Publicity wing of Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, on the directions of Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Vivek Sharma, organized one day seminar for vets and Para-vets at Reasi. The main aim of the seminar was to acquaint vets and Para-veterinary staff, with the farmer welfare schemes launched by the J&K government and their implementation at micro level.
Extension Officer, Dr. Sunil Bazaz, explained in detail the various components of Integrated Dairy Development, Feed & Fodder development and other departmental schemes. It was stressed upon the participants’ to work with dedication in popularizing the departmental schemes at grass root level and identify the beneficiaries, based on the needs and interest of the farmers in such a hilly terrain.
Dr. Banarasi Manhas, Sr. Scientist & Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Reasi also participated in the seminar and presented an informative lecture on integrated farming practices and value addition of the farm produce. He also discussed new concepts/ marketing strategies, formation of FPO’s (farmer’s producer’s organization) during the said seminar.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Reasi; Livestock Development Officer Dharmari, all the veterinary Assistant Surgeons’ and Para-veterinarians’ of the district participated in the said function.
