SDH Pampore holding free medical camp for screening breast cancer on Saturday

Pampore: A free health camp for screening of breast cancer will be organized at Sub district hospital in Saffron town Pampore on December 05.
Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Medical Officer, SDH Pampore, told Kashmir Reader that the free breast screening camp is being organised in collaboration with Adison equient company.
Besides the screening , vitamin D, metabolic and all blood tests will be also be done.
“Residents who want to avail this service will have to register at SDH Pampore, ” Dr Ashraf said, adding that people can contact him on 9906730424 for getting for getting information regarding the camp.
Doctors at Sub District Hospital informed that Adison has more than 28 years of experience in heathcare. They added that thd tests will be using USFDA certified technologies recognized worldwide for their quality and performance.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer accounting for 27% of all cancers in Indian women. Owing to the lack of education and awareness of this disease and in absence of a breast cancer‐screening program,
majority of breast cancers are diagnosed a a relatively advanced stage. Recent emphasis on breast health
education, early diagnosis, and more public facilities for cancer treatment are expected to bring about the much‐needed improvement in survival
As per WHO IARC 2018 data almost 1 out of 28 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
Breast cancer now claims more lives in India than anywhere.
Less than 1% of women in India receive any form of breast health check.
