Four drug peddlers arrested by police in Srinagar, Awantipora

Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Srinagar and Awantipora and recovered banned drugs from their possession
In Srinagar police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Rainawari intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AJ-6547 with three persons on board. They have been identified as Iqram Bulbul son of Ashraf Bulbul resident of Upper Soura, Bilal Kuchai son of Aziz Kuchai resident of Nawab Bazar and one lady resident of Jal Mohalla Rainawari. During checking, officers were able to recover 5.5 grams of Heroin from their possession. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.
In this connection police has registered a case vide FIR No.58/2020 under relevant sections of law against all the three accused persons and initiated further investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Police in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Kawani Crossing Awantipora intercepted a person identified as Farooq Ahmad Ganie resident of Braw Bandina Awantipora. During checking, officers were able to recover one Kg of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Awantipora where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.181/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
