Horticulture department organizes farm machinery mela in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Horticulture department zone Kakapora Organised block level Machinery mela and awareness programme for growers at Kakapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
During the programme orchardists, growers and farmers purchased power sprayers , IP sets, welders, tillers and other plant protection machinery as per their requirement on subsidized rates under the Prime Minister’s Development package (PMDP), a Horticulture officer told Kashmir Reader.
Chief Horticulture officer Pulwama Mukash Kumar Sharma on the occasion said that such programme will be organised in all the Horticulture blocks, zones of the district in near future.
Later on the Chief Horticulture officer Pulwama conducted an extensive tour, to take stock of all development programmes being undertaken like high density plantation, on form handling units, vermicompost units in the field.
He also visited various orchards in the block Kakapora and directed the field officers and officials to maintain a close liaison with growers. So that they get timely technical knowhow about orchard management and get benefit from the departmental schemes.
The Chief Horticulture officer was accompanied by Horticulture development officer Kakapora Masood Ahmad, HDO Awantipora Syed Mudasir, Tech. II Kakapora Fayaz Ahmad Jeelani and other field staff.
