SHOPIAN: In Shopian for upcoming first phase of district development counsel (DDC) and Panchayat by-elections total 81 candidates are in fray as 10 of the nominees withdrew their candidature on Monday which was the last day of withdrawal of nomination forms.
An official told Kashmir Reader that for the upcoming DDC and By elections for vacant panchayat seats in Keller-1 and Keller-2, total 91 forms were received by the authorities. He said that ten among them withdrew nomination forms on Monday which was also the last date of withdrawal.
He said that total candidates are now in fray for first phase of DDC election and by-election of vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats in Keller-1 and Keller-2.
He added that 13 candidates are in fray for DDC, 13 for Sarpanch and 55 for Panch seats.
The elections for the said seats are going to be held on November 28.
